Pay Bill or Log In: Exact Steps
Find two numbers on your bill
For online registration, use the 10-digit PBCWUD account number and the 4-digit PBCWUD account ID located at the top of the bill.
Open the official eBill portal
Go to ebill.pbcwater.com. Use it to view balance, pay, register, manage paperless billing, or access account alerts.
Pick the payment method by urgency
Online and phone routes are better for faster action. Mail, bank bill pay and third-party routes can post slower, especially near a due date or disconnection deadline.
Save proof
Keep the confirmation number, payment date, amount, last four digits, email receipt, and a screenshot if the account is past due or the portal gives an error.

Past-Due Bill, Late Fee and Disconnection Rules
Late fee
Payment must be received by the due date shown on the bill or a late fee may be assessed.
Disconnection risk
If the past-due balance is not paid within 14 calendar days of the billing due date, the account is subject to disconnection without further notice.
Restoration
After the past-due balance is satisfied, restoration may be completed within one business day.
Do this before paying a past-due account: call 561-740-4600 and ask which payment route protects service today. Slow bank bill pay, mail or third-party payment may not post fast enough.

High Bill, Leak Alert, Irrigation or Pool Fill
First review activity
PBCWUD says filling an average swimming pool can take up to 20,000 gallons of water, and a hose left running on the lawn can use hundreds of gallons.
Common leak culprits
When household patterns have not changed, PBCWUD points to toilets and irrigation systems as common causes of significant bill increases.
Use myAMI
myAMI lets customers view real-time usage, set text alerts, high-usage alerts, monitor water use while away, and potentially detect leaks sooner.
Check |
What to look for |
Next action |
|---|---|---|
myAMI usage graph |
Continuous overnight use, sudden spikes, weekend irrigation patterns. |
Sign up for myAMI and compare daily/hourly use. |
Toilets |
Silent running, flapper leak, tank refill sound, dye test failure. |
Repair before calling back with a high-bill dispute. |
Irrigation |
Broken heads, zone running too long, rain shutoff failure, leak in underground line. |
Turn off irrigation temporarily and watch myAMI use. |
Meter box access |
Fill, sod, mulch or landscape work burying the meter below grade. |
PBCWUD says yard elevation changes can cause meter-access cost if the meter becomes inaccessible. |
Pool fill |
Recent fill/top-off can create a one-time large usage spike. |
Estimate gallons added before assuming a leak. |
Water Quality, Chlorine Flush, Lead and Service Lines
Water sources
East service area water comes from the Biscayne Aquifer around 150 feet underground. West service area water comes from the Floridan Aquifer around 1,000-1,200 feet underground.
Treatment system
PBCWUD uses wells, five water treatment plants, distribution pipelines, reservoirs, filtration and disinfection before water reaches customers.
Chlorine flush
Twice a year, PBCWUD changes from chloramine to chlorine to clean pipes and maintain water quality. Western service area systems remain on chlorine year-round.
Concern |
What PBCWUD says |
User action |
|---|---|---|
Annual water report |
The Water Quality Report / Consumer Confidence Report is issued annually in late spring and includes previous calendar-year data. |
Use the latest report link before making health or treatment claims. |
Chlorine taste/smell |
Chlorine levels are safe for consumption, but chlorine must be removed from water used for kidney dialysis and aquariums. |
Dialysis and aquarium users should follow equipment/provider instructions. |
Pipeline flushing |
Hydrant flushing moves freshly treated water to distant parts of the network and supports disinfectant levels. |
If issues persist, call 561-740-4600 option 1. |
Lead responsibility |
PBCWUD owns the water main-to-meter side; property owners own the meter-to-building service line and indoor plumbing. |
Use service line inventory map and check older plumbing if concerned. |
Lead protection steps |
Use cold water, flush the tap, clean faucet aerators, make smart repairs, and test water after plumbing work. |
Especially important for older buildings or plumbing repairs. |
