2026 Collier County Water, Wastewater and IQ Water Rate Check

Collier County says its new Water and Sewer Rate Resolution 2026-60 becomes effective October 1, 2026. Bills before that date may reflect the prior effective rate schedule, while bills after that date should be checked against the new resolution and the exact billing-period dates. Use the current bill and portal balance as the final source for your account.

New rate date

Water and Sewer Rate Resolution 2026-60 is effective October 1, 2026.

Card fee

Debit/credit card utility payments add a 2.5% convenience fee.

Wastewater 2026

The new resolution summary lists 5/8" and 3/4" wastewater base at $56.51 effective 10/1/2026.

Usage unit

Water and wastewater usage tables are based on gallons, commonly shown per 1,000 gallons.

Common 2026 bill line
What it means
How to verify
Water base charge
Fixed monthly water charge based on meter size.
Check meter size on bill and current rate resolution.
Water volumetric charge
Usage charge that increases by consumption block and meter-size block structure.
Compare gallons/blocks, not only total dollars.
Wastewater base charge
Fixed monthly sewer charge by meter size.
For 5/8" and 3/4" accounts, the new 10/1/2026 resolution summary shows $56.51.
Wastewater volumetric rate
Usage-based wastewater charge per 1,000 gallons.
The new resolution summary shows $7.94 per 1,000 gallons effective 10/1/2026.
Residential wastewater cap
Individually metered residential wastewater usage charges are capped at 15,000 gallons in the rate-summary footnote.
Check if account is individually metered residential.
IQ / irrigation quality water
Reuse/irrigation quality water for irrigation where available.
Look for IQ water line, availability, usage and community rules.
Solid waste / cart services
Residential curbside trash/recycling services may be connected to Public Utilities Customer Service.
Check if the bill includes residential curbside solid-waste line.
Credit card convenience fee
2.5% fee on debit/credit card payment.
Use ACH AutoPay if you want the listed route to avoid the card fee.
After-hours unlock fee
Separate fee/button may be required after service disconnection.
Pay outstanding balance and after-hours unlock fee where applicable.
Estoppel / lien balance
Outstanding utility debt can matter during sale/closing.
Closing agents should request official payoff/estoppel early.
Water-rate item to check
Why it changes the bill
Reader action
Meter size
Base charges rise with larger meter sizes.
Confirm 5/8", 3/4", 1", 1.5", 2" or larger meter on the bill.
Consumption blocks
More gallons can move use into higher blocks.
Compare current gallons against prior month and same season last year.
Irrigation use
Sprinklers, pool fill and landscape water can be the largest driver in dry season.
Check controller, rain sensor and permitted watering days.
Wastewater cap
Residential sewer usage may be capped, but water usage may not be.
Separate water and wastewater lines before disputing.
Rate effective date
October 1, 2026 starts the new resolution period.
Match billing dates to the correct rate period.
Master-meter community
HOA/submeter allocation may not match individual household usage directly.
Ask property manager for master-meter allocation formula and County account reference.
Payment method
Card fee adds 2.5% to payment amount.
Use ACH if fee avoidance is the priority.
Service issue
A leak, running toilet or broken irrigation zone may show as high consumption.
Check for leaks before assuming rate error.

Rate-check tip: because Collier’s 2026 rate change takes effect October 1, 2026, do not compare a September bill and an October bill without checking the billing dates, meter size, usage blocks, wastewater cap, card fee, solid-waste lines and any after-hours/unlock or service charges.

Check gallons first

Compare consumption before comparing total dollars.

Check irrigation

Can any wastewater billing review apply based on documented pool fill or leak?
Service-line leak
Turn off all fixtures and watch whether meter movement continues if safe and accessible.

Should County inspect before I call a private plumber?
Payment fee surprise
Look for 2.5% card convenience fee in checkout or receipt.
Can ACH AutoPay avoid future card-processing fees?
Trash/recycling charge
Check if residential curbside collection line is on the utility bill.
Is the increase from water/sewer or solid-waste/cart service?
Master-meter/HOA bill
Ask whether property has direct Collier account or master-meter allocation.
Who receives NotifyNow notices and how is usage allocated?
High-bill script: “My Collier County utility account [number] at [address] increased from [normal amount/gallons] to [new amount/gallons]. I checked toilets, irrigation, pool fill, hose bibs, service-line leaks, card fees, solid waste and wastewater lines. Can you review the meter read and tell me which line caused the increase?”
